This article applies to: WooCommerce Carta della Cultura (Premium). It does not apply to Carta del Docente or Carte Cultura.
When to Use This Tool
In some cases, a Carta della Cultura voucher may be validated (spent) but the order cannot be invoiced to the public administration because one or more products in the cart do not have a valid ISBN code associated with them. This creates a hybrid situation where the voucher has been used but the merchant cannot find it among the validatable vouchers on the Carta della Cultura platform.
Previously, resolving this required technical intervention via terminal or WP-CLI. Starting from version 1.0.4 (Premium), the plugin includes a tool that allows the merchant to send the missing ISBNs directly from the order page.
How to Access the Tool
- Go to WooCommerce → Orders in your WordPress admin panel.
- Open the order that has a validated Carta della Cultura voucher but missing ISBNs.
- In the right sidebar, locate the Carta della Cultura metabox.
What You Will See
The metabox displays:
- The voucher code associated with the order.
- A table listing each product in the order and its corresponding ISBN (if available). ISBNs are shown in green when valid (13 digits) or in red when missing or invalid.
- A button labeled “Send ISBN to SOGEI”.
How to Use It
- Verify that all products in the order have the correct ISBN codes assigned (you can edit product ISBNs from the product edit page if needed).
- Click the “Send ISBN to SOGEI” button.
- Wait for the confirmation message. If successful, a green message will appear and an order note will be added automatically.
- If the operation fails, an error message will explain the reason (e.g., missing ISBNs, SOGEI service error).
Requirements
- Premium version of WooCommerce Carta della Cultura (v1.0.4 or later).
- A valid certificate configured in the plugin settings.
- The order must have a Carta della Cultura voucher code saved.
Technical Notes
The tool calls the InsertISBN SOAP endpoint of the SOGEI platform, sending the voucher code and the list of ISBNs with their proportional amounts. The operation is performed via AJAX and does not require page reload.
