Widget Configuration in Checkout
⚠ Shopify Plus only — This configuration (Settings > Checkout) is available exclusively for Shopify Plus stores. If your store is on Basic, Shopify, or Advanced plan, use the cart widget instead.
The app ilGhera Carta Docente for Shopify allows you to manually manage the visibility of the widget for voucher entry directly from your store’s checkout settings.
Enable or disable the widget manually
For a better user experience, we recommend managing the widget’s visibility based on your license status:
- Access your Shopify store’s admin panel
- Go to Settings > Checkout
- Look for the “Carta del Docente” widget among the checkout extensions
- Use the “Enable widget” toggle to control its status:
- Active (ON): the widget will be visible on the checkout page
- Inactive (OFF): the widget will be hidden on the checkout page
When to modify settings
When you activate a new license:
- Enter your valid license key in the app
- Go to Settings > Checkout
- Ensure the “Enable widget” toggle is active (ON)
When the license expires or is removed:
- Go to Settings > Checkout
- Look for the “Carta del Docente” widget
- Set the “Enable widget” toggle to inactive (OFF)
Note: Even if you forget to manually disable the widget when you do not have an active license, the app’s automatic protection feature will still block the completion of orders with Carta del Docente, showing customers the message: “The Carta del Docente service is currently unavailable”.
Configuration summary
- Active license + Widget enabled: The widget is visible and functional in checkout
- Expired license + Widget disabled: The widget is hidden in checkout (optimal user experience)
- Expired license + Widget active: The widget is visible but checkout is blocked by automatic protection
